Clockwork Love Wings Gold Necklace In Box
This is a Necklace in box. It was designed by Frank Tjepkema. It is dated 2009 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is chemically etched, gold-plated stainless steel (necklace, key and tag); wood (box). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
This necklace is composed of multiple layers of gears constructed in the shape of a heart with wings. Tjepkema uses this intricate form to convey how "matters of the heart are never simple," and are composed of moments in life, assembled like a complex clockwork and include a tiny key to the heart.
