Installation, STRVCT Shoes and CONSTRVCT Fabric
This is a Installation. It was designed by Continuum Fashion, Mary Huang and Jenna Fizel and produced by Continuum Fashion.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Mary Huang as part of Beautiful Users.
These fantasy-inspired shoes explore the potential of 3D printing to create custom designed objects on demand. 3D-printed nylon can produce forms that are delicate in appearance, light in weight, and remarkably strong. Built from triangular segments, the transparent pump recalls Cinderella’s glass slipper—a magical, material-defying object that only she could wear.
