Arline Fisch
Arline Fisch studied at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in art education. She received her Master of Arts at the University of Illinois in 1954. Two years later, she studied silversmithing at the Kunsthaandvaerkerskolen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Fisch has been recognized for introducing weaving techniques into the field of jewelry, and for her role in making jewelry a contemporary art form. During her sixty-year career, she has garnered many honors and awards, including a Gold Medal from the American Craft Council, three Fulbright Scholarships and the National Endowment for the Arts Craftsman’s Fellowship.
