Model, Infinite Library

This is a Model. It is dated 2017. Its medium is 3d-printed resin, recreated for exhibition; conceived 2017, competition entry for redesign of old street roundabout, london, uk . It is a part of the department.

“For a competition to redesign London’s Old Street roundabout, I imagined a library. Developing our experiments with poetry-generating algorithms, we conceived a spherical, labyrinthine sculpture that would display a collective poem generated from words donated by everyone who passed through. We planned to invite artists, musicians, scientists, and poets to compile reading lists each week. Within the space of the infinite open-air library, we wanted passengers to be able to read every book ever written.”
