Photograph, Hairstyle 2
This is a Photograph. It was designed by Guido Palau and photographed by Fabien Baron.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Guido Palau as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
Palau creates fantastic hairstyles inspired by history, art, music, and street style. He interprets and distorts these stylistic sources, yielding designs that challenge accepted norms of beauty. He consistently pushes the field—and our eye—forward. Beautifully photographed by Fabien Baron, the design presented here sculpts hair into a strange and totemic artifact. Palau mixes androgyny and ambiguity, and contrasts historicism and futurism.
It is credited Courtesy of Guido Palau.
