Mantle Clock, Sutton

This is a Mantle Clock.

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Collection of John C. Waddell as part of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s.

It is dated ca. 1928. Its medium is painted and gilded wood.

Seth Thomas’s Sutton Mantle Clock enabled the consumer to introduce modern design into the home with a modestly priced object of skyscraper form and Cubist-inspired decoration.

It is credited Collection of John C. Waddell.
