This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Smithsonian Libraries and Archives as part of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s.
In addition to producing lighting fixtures in a range of historical styles, the major American lighting manufacturer Edward F. Caldwell & Company expanded their offerings in modern styles. This set of brackets or sconces follows the popular conical silhouette of the period.
