Wearable Sculpture, from ANIMAL: The Other Side of Evolution series
This is a Wearable sculpture. It was designed by Ana Rajcevic.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Ana Rajcevic as part of Beauty—Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial.
Rajcevic explores the uneasy border between humans and other creatures in her ANIMAL series (2012). This dramatic headpiece resembles a horn in reverse or a long, rigid beard. Constructed from metal, polymers, and leather, these alarming headpieces challenge conventions of fashion and personal adornment.
