Drawing, Design for Pantheon Chair, 2012; graphite on white wove paper; Gift of Friedman Benda Gallery and Joris Laarman; 6831.1.2014
This drawing shows an early Makerchair to be fabricated by cnc-mill work. The chair is designed as a single, curving line, without conventional legs. The small detail drawing in the upper left quadrant explores how the tiles, joined by interlocking dovetails, would negotiate the chair's curve from the horizontal seat to the vertical base.
