Brooch
This is a Brooch. It was designed by Francesco Pavan. It is dated ca. 1985 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is gold, silver, copper, nickel silver (argentan). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
This brooch is emblematic of Pavan's exploration of a geometrical language in jewelry. Here, he formed a triangle from a new "fabric" made of multiple metals, which grew out of his earlier experiments in reducing gold to thin sheets. Pavan combined different metals to create a woven effect.
