Sidewall, Alimony
This is a sidewall. It was produced by The Jack Denst Designs, Inc.. It is dated 1977 and we acquired it in 2004. Its medium is screen printed on mylar. It is a part of the Wallcoverings department.
Alimony is a sidewall that was produced in 1977 by Jack Denst Designs. It is screenprinted on a Mylar foil ground. A sample of Alimony is included in the museum’s collection in the sample book, Love Stories by Jack Denst.
Jack Denst began designing wallpaper in 1947 and has received several major design awards, including the A.I.D. award for Good Design in 1961 and the Justin P. Allman Award in 1967.
Alimony is proposed for acquisition together with Castles in Spain and Pocket Change. These would be the first full rolls by Jack Denst Designs to enter the museum’s collection. This rare opportunity to receive rolls in mint condition would be a great benefit, as sample book pages never show the full repeat.
