Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Izelle Shaw Adams. It is dated 1821 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is silk embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in counted cross, long-armed cross, satin, stem, daisy and eyelet stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor from the Fraser/Martin Collection.
