This is a Chintz. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants (black, brown, 2 reds, 2 purples) and dye (yellow) applied by pen or brush; blue applied by brush; chintz on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
