Hinggi (ceremonial Men's Wrapper) (Indonesia)

This is a Hinggi (ceremonial men's wrapper). It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1962. Its medium is cotton and its technique is tied resist patterning in warp (ikat) on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
