Sarong Fragment (Indonesia)

This is a Sarong fragment. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1961. Its medium is silk, metallic threads and its technique is plain weave with discontinuous supplementary weft patterning (brocade). It is a part of the Textiles department.
