This is a Drawing. It was circle of Antonio Daniele Bertoli. It is dated 1719 and we acquired it in 1954. Its medium is pen and gray ink, gray wash, over pencil on paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

A figure dressed in this costume appears in a group of etchings (one of which is shown) of a production staged by Giuseppe Galli Bibiena (1696–1757) in Vienna in 1719 for the marriage of Maria Josefa of Austria to Federick Augustus, Elector of Saxony.

This object was donated by Mrs. Henry duPont.
