Cup Cup

This is a cup. It was manufactured by Spode Ceramic Works. It is dated late 18th–early 19th century and we acquired it in 1953. Its medium is porcelain (possibly bone china), vitreous enamel. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was bequest of Georgiana L. McClellan. It is credited Bequest of Georgiana L. McClellan.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D: 6.5 × 9 × 7.5 cm (2 9/16 × 3 9/16 × 2 15/16 in.)

Underside: [1] "SPODE", painted in underglaze blue (Spode Ceramic Works mark) [2] "2638", painted in red overglaze (possibly pattern number) [3] two dots within circle, painted in red overglaze (possibly painter's mark)
