This is a Candlestick. It was manufactured by Richard Hodd & Son. It is dated 1878 and we acquired it in 1926. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was bequest of Mrs. John Innes Kane. It is credited Bequest of Mrs. John Innes Kane.

Its dimensions are

It has the following markings

On the side of the candlestick base: [1] "R.H / R.H", impressed (maker's mark) [2] Leopard's head, impressed (town mark, London, 1822–) [3] "C" in a shield, impressed (date letter, 1878) [4] Lion passant, impressed (standard mark, British) [5] Head of Queen Victoria, (duty mark, 1838–1890) On the inside of candlestick well: [1] "1545", impressed (possible model number)
