Lettered in plate, lower center: LE PONT AU CHANGE, sur le grand cours de Riviere, comme on le voit du Pont neuf, n’étoit autrefois que de bois et fut appellé le Grand-/Pont jusques en l’an 1141. Que Loüis VII ordonna aux Changeurs d’y demeurer mais, après plusieurs reparations, aiant été emporté par un/ debordement extraordinaire on commença à le rebâtir de pierre l’an 1639 sous le Regne de Lüis XIII et fut achevé en 1647 Loüis XIV regnant/ Il est d’une Structure tres hardie, les maisons qui sont dessus étant de pierre a cinq étages et doubles de chaque côté; lettered lower left: 1.
