Lettered in plate, lower center: LE PALAIS ROYAL porta du commencement le nom de Palais-Cardinal à cause que le Cardinal de Richelieu le fit bastir pendant les prospérité de son ministère. Il le laissa en mourant au Roy/ Louis 13e et nostre grand Monarque Louis 14e, en ayant changé le titre pendant le sejour qu’il y a fait, en a mis en possession Monsieur son Frere unique aussi bien que du Palais Brion/ qui sert de logement à Mr le Duc de Chartres. Ce Palais bâti en 1636 est du dessein de Jacques le Mercier.
