Print, Repast of the Hunters

This is a Print. It was designed by Alexis Peyrotte and engraved by Gerard Jean Baptiste Scotin, the Younger. It is dated early 1740s and we acquired it in 1921. Its medium is hand-colored etching with watercolor on paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt.

Its dimensions are

32 3/8 X 23 1/4 in. (82.2 X 59.1 cm)

It is inscribed

At bottom, right of center, inreverse: "Scotin Le jeune"; bottom margin: "A. PEYROTTE inv."; "N. 12"; 'charpentier au Coq. avec privilege du Roy."
