Elliptical Earrings
This is a Elliptical earrings.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Anonymous as part of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s.
In these elliptical earrings of 1924, Van Cleef & Arpels used a clever trompe l’oeil setting to give the appearance of overlapping loops of diamonds and sapphires that would have been seen with bobbed hair.
