Knitted Necklace/Body Ornament Necklace/body Ornament
This is a necklace/body ornament. It was designed by Arline Fisch and made by Arline Fisch. It is dated 1995 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is coated copper wire (machine-knitted), silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Made to be worn over the shoulders, this garment-like ornament plays with the idea of the body and scale of jewelry. The piece is embellished with a large central floral form that is repeated in tiny scattered silver florets. The florets on the long, colorful, flowing elements become sources of sparkle as the wearer moves.
