Book, Bauentwurfslehre (Architects’ Data)
This is a Book.
This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Ellen Lupton as part of Beautiful Users.
Architect Ernst Neufert sought to derive standard measurements for rooms and objects from typical human dimensions. He employed an idealized male body as a framework for establishing standard dimensions for a wide range of products, fixtures, and building components. Bauentwurfslehre (Architects’Data), originally published in 1936, is still used around the world.
It is credited Courtesy of anonymous lender.
