Digital Animation, T constructivist: The New York Times Style Magazine
This is a Digital animation. It was designed by Philippe Apeloig. It is dated 2007 and we acquired it in 2013. Its medium is moving image (digital video, 2 min.; color, sound). It is a part of the Digital department.
Although silkscreen poster design remains a central part of Philippe Apeloig’s practice, he also constantly creates work in the field of moving graphics. This playful animation, designed for T: The New York Times Style Magazine, transforms the magazine’s “T” logo into a myriad of figures. Its soundtrack features the astonished cheers and flashbulbs associated with a celebrity’s arrival on a red carpet. Apeloig uses this digital medium to its fullest potential, deconstructing this single letter into a series of abstract shapes that are constantly reinvented.
