It is a part of the department.

“Dr. Dre and I proposed etching a map of the city of Compton onto the global Super Bowl stage. We cast the buildings as characters in a narrative that led from Snoop Dogg’s house to 50 Cent in the club to Eminem breaking out of jail. The story culminated in a helicopter above a fallen Mary J. Blige and an army of men bent low in a grid of cardboard boxes. The piece began with Dre playing the stadium like he does his recording desk, transforming the lived experience of a specific place into music that reaches a global audience.”

It is credited Courtesy of Es Devlin.
