Study, Free Your Mind

This is a Study. It is dated 2023. Its medium is laser-cut paper, cardstock, foam core, and circuit board pieces; installed 2023, factory international, aviva studios, manchester, london, uk . It is a part of the department.

“Factory International’s inaugural performance was a journey into the 1999 film The Matrix. We were thinking about the relationship between the digital and physical worlds and were struck by how much the motherboard of a computer looks like a city map. In this model, we played with that relationship, using circuit board pieces to represent buildings in an exaggerated map of Manchester, England.”

It is credited Courtesy of Es Devlin.
