Apron, Hostess Apron

This is a Apron. It was designed by Dorothy Wright Liebes and Clare Potter and woven by Clare Potter and Daren Pierce. It is dated ca. 1950 and we acquired it in 2024. Its medium is wool, viscose, and lurex. It is a part of the department.


Potter, a close friend and client of Liebes, designed modern clothing for stylish American women. With its multicolored Lurex stripes and whimsical pompom ties, this hostess apron could be worn over slim pants or a skirt to create a glamorous outfit for entertaining at home.
