Bowl (Germany)
This is a bowl. It was designed by Klaus Moje and made by Klaus Moje. It is dated 1981 and we acquired it in 1983. Its medium is kiln-formed fused glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Twisted, semi-opaque red-orange and deep translucent blue glass canes were heat-laminated together to create this bowl, with its pattern of audaciously contrasting blue parallelograms and red ground.
This object was featured in our Object of the Week series in a post titled Something Brilliant to Behold.
