Soup Spoon with Pointed End Spoon

This is a spoon. It was designed by Arthur J. Stone and made by George C. Erickson and Charles W. Brown, American, active 1912-1937 and manufactured by George C. Erickson and Arthur J. Stone. It is dated 1912–1937 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor.

Its dimensions are

L x W x D: 19.7 × 4 × 2.5 cm (7 3/4 in. × 1 9/16 in. × 1 in.)

It has the following markings

On reverse of stem: [1] chasing hammer symbol with "Stone", impressed (manufacturer’s mark, Arthur J. Stone) [2] “STERLING” in reserve, impressed (standard) [3] “B”, impressed (benchman's mark, Charles W. Brown, in use 1912-1937)

It is inscribed

On obverse of terminal: [1] Stylized initials “A” and “T” stacked within a large “W”, engraved
