Salad Fork with Pointed End Fork

This is a fork. It was designed by Arthur J. Stone and made by George C. Erickson and manufactured by Arthur J. Stone. It is dated 1915–1932 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silver. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

text from "Historical Overview" in Feeding Desire exhibition catalogue:

"In addition, there was a growing revival of eighteenth-century simplicity in England, as exemplified by the work of Crichton Brothers, and in teh United States by Arthur Stone (fig. 80), Gebelein, and others, especially in the Boston area. Concurrently, ARts and Crafts handcrafted flatware was occasionally produced from the same firms who worked in the revival styles, as well as by others who specialized in this movement, such as the Kalo workshops in Chicago (1904-20)."

It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor.

It is inscribed

On obverse of terminal: [1] Stylized initials “A” and “T” stacked within a large “W”, engraved
