Poster, Cinema Afrika Filmtage (African Film Festival)
This is a Poster. It was printed by Sérigraphie Uldry AG. It is dated 2006 and we acquired it in 2007. Its medium is screenprint on white wove paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
Schraivogel, a Swiss graphic designer, is known for his astonishing posters for cultural institutions, each one resulting from intensive visual exploration. The linear patterns that radiate from the words “Cinema Afrika” resemble topographic lines on a map. Concentric lines engulf this edgeless, borderless landscape, leaving planes and boundaries uncertain.
This object was featured in our Object of the Week series in a post titled Topographies.
It is credited Gift of Ralph Schraivogel.
