Portrait, Empress Eugénie

This is a Portrait. It is dated 1850–1900 and we acquired it in 1998. Its medium is silk and its technique is predominantly warp-faced plain weave (white) with a continuous supplementary weft (black), variously bound on the front, which on the back outside the picture is bound as plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
