"Kin-der-Link" Stool
This is a stool. It was designed by Bashir Zivari and manufactured by Skools, Inc.. It is dated introduced 1993 and we acquired it in 1997. Its medium is wood (laminated and bent). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
These bent plywood interlinking stools are modular; they can be affixed to each other to create a larger seating or work area. Bashir Zivari designed the Kin-Der-Link while still an architectural student, a unique design that does not mimic prior adult furniture. Borrowing from Modernism’s keenness for modularity, this stool suits schools where the number of students can vary from classroom to classroom. The units can be added or subtracted according to particular needs, and stacked for storage.
