Fragment With Factory Stamp (England)

This is a Fragment with factory stamp. It was company: Miles & Edwards. It is dated ca. 1830 and we acquired it in 1996. Its medium is cotton and its technique is block printed on plain weave fabric; block registration marks visible. It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is inscribed

'134 OXFORD St MILES & EDWARDS" within simple rectangular frame within elaborate encadrement in red. The start of a mark in black is visible at bottom edge. Handwritten in ink, "28 1/2" yds.
