Textile With Chef De Piece, Dianne Chasseresse
This is a Textile with chef de piece. It was designed by Jean-Baptiste Huët and manufactured by Oberkampf & Cie.. It is dated ca. 1798 and we acquired it in 1994. Its medium is plain weave cotton and its technique is printed by engraved plate (the short height of the repeat indicates that the shorter printing plate which came into use at the turn on the century was used; original glaze is visible). It is a part of the Textiles department.
