Drawing, Costume Design

This is a Drawing. It was designed by John Hogarth. It is dated 1967 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is brush and watercolor, pen and black ink on paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

John Hogarth, more or less, remains an unknown quantity. Though he is represented in the New York Public Library's theater collection with one drawing very similar to the proposed sheet, he is not included in any of the costume or theater directories, nor is he listed as a past or present member of the Union of United Scenic Artists.

It is credited Gift of John Gregory.
