Sampler (Mexico), 1837

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Maria Jesus Castaneda. It is dated 1837 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk and cotton embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in running, cross, and double running stitches on plain weave foundation.
