Sampler (Mexico)

This is a Sampler. It was made by Francisca Herrera Piebla. It is dated 1864 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is cotton embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in withdrawn element work on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
