Sampler (Austria)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Karoline Berger. It is dated ca. 1895 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is cotton embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in cross, button hole, chain, coral, stem, feather, herring bone, running, tete de boeuf, knots, and faggot stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
