Sampler (Austria)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Karoline Berger and student at Kunstgewerbeschule. It is dated 1900 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is cotton embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in button hole, knots, stem, feather and button hole over a cord stitch and looping stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer. It is credited Bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer.
