Band (Italy), 16th century

This is a Band. It is dated 16th century and we acquired it in 1944. Its medium is silk on linen and its technique is counted stitch, double running and running (darning) stitch embroidery on plain weave; long end of a wrapping stitch used for fringe. It is a part of the Textiles department.
