Hunting Scene Matchsafe

This is a Matchsafe. It was manufactured by George Heath & Co.. It is dated 1888–89 and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is silver, enamel. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

G.H, lion passant, leopard's head, date letter "N", and partially illegible mark (possibly duty mark) are all stamped on bezel. GH, Lion passant, and date letter "N" also stamped on underside of lid.
