Textile, Cupid and Psyche

This is a Textile. It was manufactured by Gorgerat Frères et Cie.. It is dated ca. 1790 and we acquired it in 1978. Its medium is cotton and its technique is printed by engraved copper plate on plain weave; mordant for purple-black printed by engraved plate with mordants for reds, purple and browns plus blue and yellow dyes applied by brush. It is a part of the Textiles department.
