Sampler (France)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Marguerite Maurel and student at Misses Bedard's School. It is dated 1834 and we acquired it in 1976. Its medium is silk embroidery, cotton warp, linen weft and its technique is embroidered in counted cross, stem and satin stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Unknown. It is credited Gift of Anonymous Donor from the Fraser/Martin Collection.
