Peacock Vase Vase
This is a vase. It was manufactured by Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company and the design director was Louis Comfort Tiffany. It is dated ca. 1901 and we acquired it in 1975. Its medium is mold-blown, iridized glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
The swirling decoration on the glass adds a rococo aesthetic to this organic form.
This object was featured in our Object of the Week series in a post titled The Lure of the Peacock: Iridescence and Immortality.
