Sash

This is a Sash. It is dated 19th century and we acquired it in 1974. Its medium is silk and metal-wrapped silk on cotton and its technique is uncounted stitches; satin and double running stitches on plain weave; foundation has a crepe effect due to over twisted z-spun yarns used for warp and weft. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Mrs. John Carver. It is credited Gift of Mrs. John Carver.
