Towel

This is a Towel. It is dated late 19th–early 20th century and we acquired it in 1974. Its medium is silk and metal-wrapped silk on cotton and its technique is counted and uncounted stitches; double running and overcasting stitches on plain weave; overcasting stitches create deflected element work; bobbin lace. It is a part of the Textiles department.
