Chintz Fragment (India)
This is a Chintz fragment. It is dated 18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants for red, black and brown applied over resist; some areas of red mordant applied by pen; madder dyed; blue applied by brush over resist; chintz on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
