Print, Black Revolution

This is a Print. It was designed by Lev Mills. It is dated 1969 and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is lithograph on off-white wove paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

Lev Mills produced this poster when he was a student at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, England. Though he was living abroad, Mills’ design explores themes of the American civil rights and Black Power movements, creatively layering images that reflect black American identity and connect the designer to a shared community and experience in his home country.

This object was donated by Museum of Graphic Art. It is credited Gift of the Museum of Graphic Art, New York.
